Silicon Institute of Technology is one of the premier institutes in the state of Odisha, approved by AICTE and affiliated to the Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Odisha. It is accredited by the National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) with Grade "A".
Silicon Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar was established in 2001, and started its 2ndcampus in Sambalpur in 2009.
Silicon offers 8 UG programmes and 4 PG programmes in both its campuses. In its Bhubaneswar campus courses on circuit branches are offered while the Sambalpur campus offers core branches of engineering. Our distinguished faculty members are qualified from established technical universities in India and the US; a significant number of them hold PhD degrees and have experience both in academia as well as the industry.
Silicon adheres to a 3L Quality Policy of Lecture, Library and Laboratory. Qualified and experienced faculty are supported by a well-equipped digital library and numerous laboratories for Applied Sciences and Engineering, including a state-of-the-art VLSI & IOT laboratory. A sophisticated English Language Interactive Lab with individual workstations trains the students in communication skills.
Silicon ranks among the top BPUT affiliated colleges in Odisha based on academic performance. Silicon students across different branches have won seventeen (17) Gold Medals in the last twelve years for their performance in the university (BPUT) examinations. They have also been awarded with Posco TJ Foundation and INSITE Srinivas Ramanujan Mathematics Scholarships.
Silicon has successfully organised programmes like CampusConnect by Infosys, Pre-ILP by TCS, Gyana Vriksha, Basecamp by MindTree and Project Campus and Mission 10X by WIPRO Technologies.
Siliconites have made their presence felt worldwide and are employed in India and abroad with reputed national IT companies like Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Mindtree and international software houses like Capgemini, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, Google, Oracle etc. Our graduates are also employed with several PSUs like BARC, ISRO, NTPC and IOCL; some are with Civil services like IES, IAS, OAS and some others employed in the Defence sector.
Silicon Alumni who are in pursuit of higher education are enrolled in prestigious academic institutions like IISc, IITs, NITs, and IIMs in India and universities in Australia, Singapore, UK, USA and Canada.
